Todays Blog is going to be all about skincare. In my eyes skincare is much more important than makeup because well if you have healthy skin ..who needs makeup? The most important thing to remember when caring for your skin is what kind of skin you have?
Dry skin: Feels rough to touch and doesn't produce much oil.
Normal skin: Doesn't produce much oil. Very little spots and very clear.
Sensitive skin: Can break out easily. Can go quite red when your makeup is taken off. Can be very sensitive to certain products.
Combination skin: has an oily T-zone and skin can be dry around the cheeks.
Oily skin: Produces a lot of oil and skin can break out easily due to this.
It's important to know your skin type so you can use the right products for your skin. I have combination skin that can also be quite sensitive. Before I knew about caring for my skin properly , I thought I had dry skin and used to use products that would irritate and sting my skin. One of the best things, I think ,to use for your skin is Rose Water. It's suitable for all skin types and it is so refreshing and good for your skin. It is a great toner, It can be bought in most chemists and is cheap and cheerful ;)! I have two different bottles of Rose water. One of them I got in the pharmacy for €5.65 and the other in Hennessy Hair&Beauty in Cork city for no more that 7 or 8 euro. They are both the exact same product and size in case you guys are wondering. The only difference is the one I bought in Hennessy is pink in colour and the one in the chemist is clear in colour. I have pictures below. I am having difficulty posting photos in the middle of my blog so you guys will have to bare with me!
The most sensitive area of our face is the eye area. The skin around the eyes is very delicate and if we don't treat it with care we can get many wrinkles in the future. I recommend using an eye gel every night just before you go to bed. Make sure all your eye makeup is off before you put it on. I just use the boots branded eye gel that I got for free in their '3 for 2' offer on their skincare range.
If you find you are getting spots and can't get rid of them, I would highly recommend kaolin powder. I mix about a tablespoon of kaolin powder with about two tablespoons of Rose water until it forms a liquid. I then just apply the mask all over my face, except for the eye area, using a fresh, clean foundation brush I bought in penny's for €2. I leave it to dry for no longer than 10 minutes and rinse it off with warm water.I bought a tub of kaolin powder in Hennessy Hair&Beauty in Cork city for just under €4 and it is amazing! Your skin feels so smooth and looks so healthy after every time you use it.
I have put pictures of some of the products i mentioned in todays blog down below.I will also have a detailed skin care routine on my blog on Sunday so make sure to check it out ;)
And remember..
Stay positive, Stay healthy ,Stay fashionable!
Love from,
