April Favourites <3

Hey girls,
Hope you are all keeping well and enjoying the few days of sunshine we have been getting :) Who would have thought that we would even be able to recognise the sun in the sky living in a country like Ireland :p I decided to only do one blog this week so leave a comment below and let me know if you would prefer me to do two or three a week or keep it at just the one. I also created a Facebook page for my blog so you guys can like that page for updates on my blogs! I will try and have a link for it somewhere on this page. Now let's get into the good stuff! ;)...

This is today's outfit! I decided to take complete advantage of the sun and whip out my 3/4 length jeans and my denim jacket ;) My denim jacket is from New Look and I think I paid about 30 euro for it. I got my top in penny's about two years ago but they still have tops very similar to this pattern and style in for summer. My jeans are just jeggings from penny's! They are the comfiest things ever and i dont think they were too expensive either! My converse are just from lifestyle sports in Cork City and I paid about 55 for them I think.

Seeing as April is coming to an end I have decided to share my favourite beauty products for the month of April with you. I am going to definatly do a monthly favourites blog every month  so I can recommend all my favourite beauty products that I have used for that month.

My first favourite this month is my Dior addict Lipstick in the shade 260. I love this lipstick. The colour is the perfect baby pink and it is not too heavy on the lips. I defiantly want to re-purchase this lipstick in a different shade. I got this one in Spain and I think I paid around 30-35 euro for it so it is quite pricey but well worth it!

This Is one of my favourite mascaras ever! It is maybellines falsies mascara. It is  fantastic for volume. This mascara costs between €11- €12. I find it has beat any expensive mascara I have tried and I always find myself going back to this one!

This powder is amazing!!! I cannot say enough good things about it! I have told so many family members and friends to go out and buy it because it honestly is just my favourite makeup product by far! Everyone who i told buy it loves it and said they will defiantly re-purchase it. I use this after I have applied all my makeup and the minute I put it on it just gets rid of that powdery, blotchy look. It makes your makeup look so natural and even. Don't be surprised if you see this in my favourites every month ;)

This is the soap&glory kick ass concealer. It is a 3-step concealer. There is one concealer for under your eyes. One for your blemishes and spots and a setting powder to put over the concealer. I purchased this in London so I'm not exactly sure of the price but it was no more than £8. I promise you guys I will start having exact prices in my blog when I start re-purchasing products over here! :p

This is a powder brush from Penneys. I paid €2 for this and I have used it for most of this month. I use it for blush, bronzing my face and blending in my foundation fully. I actually really like this brush. They are small so they fit perfect into my makeup bag! The perfect buy..cheap and cheerful ;)

This is my last favourite for this month. This is my H&M lipgloss. I paid 2.95 or 3.95 for this lipstick. It has a brush applicator which I really like. The colour looks quite dramatic in the tube but really it is quite sheer on your lips but still gives you that pop of colour!

Girls just want to have fun!

Hey guys!
Hope you are all having a good weekend? I went shopping on Saturday so hopefully I will have some exciting products to share with you soon.

This is Saturdays outfit. I got a lot of compliments so decided to share it with you all.

My jumper is from New Look. I got it in the sale for €12 and I absolutely love it. It's so comfy and fashionable at the same time. I paired it with black leather leggings from New Look.

My shoes are from penny's. I got these as a gift. They go with so many different outfits and are the perfect pair of boots for a rainy day!

Seeing as my outfit was quite wintery, I decided to make my makeup and hair as summery and funky as I could. I wore a MAC lipstick in the shade 'impassioned'. I love this lipstick. It is so girly and bright..perfect for summer! For my eye makeup, I did a neutral, shimmery smokey eye. I decided to put my hair up in a sleek bun. It is very elegant and girly and I thought it went perfect with this outfit.

Now it's time for the skincare routine as promised ;)!..

Step 1: Remove all eye makeup.

I always just place a damp cotton pad ,with a small amount of eye makeup remover on it, over each eye. It is important that you always dampen your cotton pads before you use one on any area of your face otherwise they will stretch the skin and be too rough on it.

Step 2: Cleanse the face.

I recommend using a cleansing lotion. You can buy one in any chemist. I place a small amount of lotion on my fingers and work it onto the skin. I then rinse off the lotion with warm water. If you are wearing a lot of makeup you can do a double cleanse.

Step 3: Use a toner

I use rose water but there are many different types of toners. I mentioned Rose water in my last blog. Again, just damping your cotton pad and pouring some toner onto it, wipe it around your face to remove any excess makeup.

Step 4: Use a mask/exfoliator.

This step should only be done one/two times a week. If you have oily skin an exfoliator containing small grains is very good for your skin. If you have combination skin, a skin peel is good for an exfoliator. I have combination skin and find a skin peel very hard to buy so I just use any normal exfoliator once a week only. Decleor do have a skin peel but it is quite expensive so I just stick to a normal exfoliator.

Step 5: Moisturise your face

Apply a small amount of moisturiser to your finger tips and work it into your skin. Make sure to use a moisteriser that is suitable for your skin type.

Step 6: Apply your eye gel

I recommend applying your eye gel just before you go to bed. Remember to be very gentle applying it as the eye area is the most delicate part of our skin.

I really hope you enjoyed today's blog. I'm going to start including fashion into my blog a lot more! I really loved writing today's blog and sharing my style with you guys. Make sure to follow me by email above or follow me on twitter @KayleighBaxter3. Ill talk to you all in my next blog so..

Second blog <3

Hey guys!
Hope you guys are all keeping well? I just wanted to say before we start that my blog is going amazing! Only my third day and I already have nearly 400 views so I want to thank you all so much! I wanted to say a huge thank you to Anna Saccone Joly for tweeting about my blog! It meant so much to me. I also would like to thank you all for your lovely comments on twitter. You can follow me @KayleighBaxter3 for updates on my blog. I am having so much fun and its only my third day! Loads more to come your way! ;)

Todays Blog is going to be all about skincare. In my eyes skincare is much more important than makeup because well if you have healthy skin ..who needs makeup? The most important thing to remember when caring for your skin is what kind of skin you have?

Dry skin: Feels rough to touch and doesn't produce much oil.

Normal skin: Doesn't produce much oil. Very little spots and very clear.

Sensitive skin: Can break out easily. Can go quite red when your makeup is taken off. Can be very sensitive to certain products.

Combination skin: has an oily T-zone and skin can be dry around the cheeks.

Oily skin: Produces a lot of oil and skin can break out easily due to this.

It's important to know your skin type so you can use the right products for your skin. I have combination skin that can also be quite sensitive. Before I knew about caring for my skin properly , I thought I had dry skin and used to use products that would irritate and sting my skin. One of the best things, I think ,to use for your skin is Rose Water. It's suitable for all skin types and it is so refreshing and good for your skin. It is a great toner, It can be bought in most chemists and is cheap and cheerful ;)! I have two different bottles of Rose water. One of them I got in the pharmacy for €5.65 and the other in Hennessy Hair&Beauty in Cork city for no more that 7 or 8 euro. They are both the exact same product and size in case you guys are wondering. The only difference is the one I bought in Hennessy is pink in colour and the one in the chemist is clear in colour. I have pictures below. I am having difficulty posting photos in the middle of my blog so you guys will have to bare with me!

The most sensitive area of our face is the eye area. The skin around the eyes is very delicate and if we don't treat it with care we can get many wrinkles in the future. I recommend using an eye gel every night just before you go to bed. Make sure all your eye makeup is off before you put it on. I just use the boots branded eye gel that I got for free in their '3 for 2' offer on their skincare range.

If you find you are getting spots and can't get rid of them, I would highly recommend kaolin powder. I mix about a tablespoon of kaolin powder with about two tablespoons of Rose water until it forms a liquid. I then just apply the mask all over my face, except for the eye area, using a fresh, clean foundation brush I bought in penny's for €2. I leave it to dry for no longer than 10 minutes and rinse it off with warm water.I bought a tub of kaolin powder in Hennessy Hair&Beauty in Cork city for just under €4 and it is amazing! Your skin feels so smooth and looks so healthy after every time you use it.

I have put pictures of some of the products i mentioned in todays blog down below.I will also have a detailed skin care routine on my blog on Sunday so make sure to check it out ;)

And remember..

First Blog <3

Hey guys,
It's The Teen Barbie here! This is my very first blog..so exciting!! I am a 16 year old irish girl living in cork. My name is kayleigh otherwise known as 'The Teen Barbie' ;) I am basically doing this blog to help teenage girls learn the tips and tricks to makeup and fashion. I wanted to share all my tips with you guys because they have certainly helped me over the past few years. I still remember the days when I had to get my sister or neighbour to do my makeup. My best friend would even have to show me how to apply my blush properly because I use to put it down my cheeks rather than up haha! I believe anything  is possible and we can all look like we just walked off the red carpet with a few tips to help us along the way! I hope to post blogs up here a few times a week. I am so excited to share all my tips and advice with you guys so please subscribe and let's get started ;)

I wanted to start off today with eye makeup! Plenty of people have said to me that they find it quite difficult to apply eyeshadow..lots of people don't even know where to start. When I am applying eyeshadow I mainly use the same 3 steps all the time. It's easy, it's quick and you can create many beautiful eye looks out of it. STEP 1: Apply a light eyeshadow on your lid and up to your brow bone (just underneath your eyebrows). Light colours can be shimmery, white or very pale colours. STEP 2: Apply a neutral eyeshadow onto just your lid. Neutral colours can be light browns, peachy or creamy colours. STEP 3: Work a dark coloured eyeshadow into your crease. Your crease is the defined line just above your eyeball as weird as that sounds :p

Well hope you guys enjoyed reading my first blog. I have plenty more tips to share so please subscribe and tell your friends.

Stay positive, Stay healthy, Stay fashionable!

Lots of love,
