Naked 2 palette tutorial!

Hey girls,
Hope you are all keeping well? I decided to do a blogpost today on how to use the Naked 2 palette. People go out and spend €40 on the naked 2 palette and then they go home and haven't got a clue how to use it and its sitting in a drawer for months. Well whip it out now girls because I am here to help ;)

For any of you who do not own the naked 2 palette you can purchase it at any urban decay counter or in stores like Sephora or Ulta but unfortunately we do not have those stores here in Ireland. I purchased my naked 2 palette in duty free on my flight home from Spain last summer. I paid €36 for this palette. In my makeup course last week we were told that the naked 2 palette is the palette to have in your makeup kit at the moment. Neutral colours are in trend at the moment and nearly all of the colours in this palette are very neutral. This is an amazing palette and well worth the money!

When you are trying to create any eye makeup look there is one simple technique that I follow. Before I started using this technique I was never able to create any eye makeup look because I didn't even know where to start! There is only 3 simple things to remember when you are creating that gorgeous eye look and I mentioned this in my first ever blogpost.

1. Light eyeshadow all over your lid and up to brow bone E.g: white eyeshadow, a highlighter , pale coloured shadows.

2. Apply a neutral colour all over lid E.g: light brown or peach shadows.

3. Work a dark colour into your crease and outter corner of the lid E.g: dark brown or black shadows.

To help you understand this technique in more detail I created a few eye makeup looks using the naked palette only so that you can get ideas from my eye looks or try and recreate them yourselves.

This first look could be worn both on a night out or just during the day.  I first applied a bit of setting powder all over my lid to help my eye shadow stay on all day. Setting powder is a great alternative for eye shadow primer and works just as well. I then applied 'Busted' into my crease and blended that in to the outer corner of my eyelid. I then mixed the colours 'Busted' and 'Blackout' and worked the into   a v shape from my eyelashes into the crease. I then just applied 'Verve' all over my lid blending everything together in circular motions to get rid of any harsh lines.to finish the look off I applied a white eye shadow into the inner corners of my eyes to make them look much more awake.

This eye look again could be worn both for night or day wear. I was only going to work so i kept this look quite natural but it could be built up to make it a bit more dramatic for a night look. I first applied 'Foxy' all over my lid and up to my brow bone. I then applied 'Tease' all over my lid. I then worked 'Busted' into my crease and kept building this up until I got quite a dramatic look. I then applied 'Bootycall' into the inner part of my lid.

This eye look is quite dramatic so It would be a great look for a night out. I first applied setting powder all over my lid to help keep this eye shadow lasting all night. I then applied 'Blackout' into my crease and worked it in the the outer corner of my lid. I then applied 'Bootycall' very lightly all over my lid. I then just applied 'Foxy' to the middle of my lid and worked that into the inner corner of my lid. To finish this look off I applied a thick line of liquid eyeliner and smudged that out using a cotton bud.

This look is probably the most natural of the lot so it would be great for during the day. I first applied setting powder to the whole lid. I then applied 'Bootycall' to the lid. I then mixed a small bit of 'Suspect' and 'Snake bite' and worked that into my crease. I next applied Half Baked' to my lid. I then worked a tiny amount of 'Tease' , 'Snake bite' and 'suspect' into the outer corner of my lid. To finish this look off i applied 'Foxy' to my entire lid and blended everything out using circular motions.

I hope you all learned plenty of tips from this blogpost and i hope you will now be constantly reaching for the naked 2 palette out of that drawer ;) If you have any questions feel free to comment below or contact me through any of  my pages. Talk to you all in my next post.

Catrice nail varnish review!

Hey girls,
Hope you are all having a great week. This week has been really exciting for me. On wednesday night i went to see Olly Murs in the marquee with one of my best friends. He was amazing and such a natural showman! The picture below is what i wore on the night. Then on Saturday I completed a makeup course and I am now a fully qualified makeup artist! I have been practising loads and looking for lots of models over the past few days ;)

I recently have got an obsession with painting my nails. I used to never paint my nails only if I was going out. The thought of sitting and waiting for them to dry for about 15 minutes seemed like agony and I just used to hate painting them in general. I have been going out a lot this summer so I was painting them a lot more and the obsession just grew on me ;)

A few weeks ago I was in Penneys and saw these nail varnishes. I was searching for a nude nail varnish colour for awhile and died when I saw these gorgous colours. They were exactly what I wanted. I paid €2.99 for each of these nail varnishes. The nail varnish on the left is in the shade 'My Café Au Lait At Nôtre-Dame'. The nail varnish on the right is in the shade 'Bonjour Chérie!'. You would think that by looking at both these colours that they are exactly the same but the nail varnish on the right has more shimmer in it. I am a complete sucker for anything with shimmer in it so I decided to try this nail polish.

This is what the nail varnish looked like when it was on. Please excuse my disgusting hands :p I took this photo the day after I applied this polish. I had a shower that morning and I was shocked that this nail varnish didn't chip one bit In the shower like most nail varnishes do. I absolutely adore the colour of this nail varnish! It is perfect for summer or winter and will go with any outfit!

This photo was taken 4 days after I had first applied this polish. I was shocked how well this polish stayed on. This is the longest any nail varnish has ever stayed on my nails! All my friends in school said that it looked like I had only just applied this colour to my nails. They were shocked that a nail varnish could stay on that well for 4 days. In the end, this nail varnish was on my nails for 5 days before I started to see any chips. The chips were tiny and you could barley see them. I was just so impressed by this nail varnish! I never expected it to be this good for €2.99. I can't wait to pick up more colours by Catrice!

Thank you for reading today's blog. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. I will talk to you all in my next blog!

May Favourites <3

Hey girls,
Apologies with the delay with this blogpost. I completely forgot about this post up until about two weeks ago so I took a bit of time to think long and hard about the products I have been loving this month.

My First favourite this month is Maybellines Rocket mascara. When I first bought this I wasn't that impressed by it. I am absolutely obsessed with Maybellines falsies mascara but somehow the rocket mascara has won me over ;) I love that this mascara doesn't go clumpy or look like you have buckets of black gunk on your eyes like some mascaras!

My next favourite for this month has been my Naked 2 palette. I have been obsessed with using this to create all my neutral smokey eyes. The colours I have really been loving in this palette are Verve, Tease and Blackout. I paid €36 euro for this palette in duty free but it is usually around €39 or €40 at any urban decay counter.

This tan is my absolute favourite tan at the moment. It is the only tan I have been using for the month of may. I never really used to be into tans until I read Love Lauren's great review on this tan so I decided to buy it. I love how this tan is so natural And light. If you prefer darker tans I would recommend trying out the Coco Brown day&night tan! It costs €7 in Penneys.

I am a huge sucker for perfumes. The very first , proper bottle of perfume I bought was Believe by Britney Spears. I think I bought this when I was about 11 and I always find myself going back to this perfume. The scent is quite strong and fruity and it lasts all day! I love how this perfume is cheap so when it's gone you can run out and purchase another bottle. This 100ml cost me around £35 pounds
in London.

My last favourite this month is my Mac blush in the shade Dollymix. I absolutely adore the colour of this blush! This blush is very pigmented so you only need a small amount and it lasts all day. I think I paid about €22 for this in mac over Christmas.

That is all my favourites for this month. If you have any questions, enquiries or comments you can comment below or contact me on twitter  @KayleighBaxter3 or on The Teen Barbie facebook page. I will talk to you all in my next blog. Enjoy the sunshine and make sure to get tanning ;)

Summer shizzle!

Hey girls,
Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine we have been getting. It has been getting so hot here in Cork there has been moments it literally feels like you are on holidays! Make sure to put on those bikinis girls and get those bodies tanned for the summer while we have the sun ;)..

Last night I went to the Belle of Ballincollig in the Ballincollig GAA club. My sister was one of the Belles and I am proud to say she won it. It was by far one of the best nights I have had in a long time! This is what I wore...

This outfit is not too dressy or not too casual. As black is quite a wintery colour I wore a bright lime green blazer to make this outfit a bit more summery. This blazer was from Penneys in their last year summer stock. My black skinnies are also from Penneys and my top is from swamp.

For my shoes, I just wore these black glitter wedges from river island. I absolutely love the sparkly wedge on these shoes. It makes them look much more glamorous and girly.

For my bag, I just paired my Chanel replica with this outfit. I got this in Turkey a year or two ago and it was honestly the best €20 ever spent. I get so many compliments on this bag and people asking me if it is real. For my jewellery, I just wore this gold bracelet that my nana bought me a few weeks ago in Spain. I painted my nails a bright pink colour by essence to add a pop of colour to this outfit.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog. I decided to dedicate a whole blogpost to this outfit so I could write about it in detail. I have done a lot of blogs on makeup and I can't be forgetting about  my love for fashion ;)
